Hello, my name is Colleen, and I’m here to help out my best friend, Ashley. Ashley, is facing something no one should have to go through—watching her mom, Alicia, battle stage four cancer while trying to hold her family together.

Ashley is her mom’s full-time caregiver. Her days are spent making sure Alicia is comfortable, cared for, and never alone through this devastating diagnosis. On top of that, Ashley is also helping raise her younger brother, Sam. The three of them live together, doing their best to survive a situation that feels heavier by the day.

Because Ashley is caring for her mom full time, this is her only source of income. Medical bills continue to pile up—many of which insurance has not covered—and the financial stress is becoming overwhelming. On top of medical expenses, they are struggling with everyday costs, existing debt, and essential supplies needed to keep Alicia as comfortable as possible.

Life feels like it’s crumbling beneath them, and no family should have to choose between medical care, basic needs, or keeping the lights on.
