Help My Sister Recover After Devastating Hit-and-Run on Her Way to Work (4/7)

On the morning of April 7th around 5:30 AM, my sister’s life changed in an instant. While riding her red moped about ¼ mile south of Waldo Road and 63rd Ave, she was hit from behind in a hit-and-run while on her way to work. The driver left her in the road, seriously injured.

She was thrown more than 300 feet, and the injuries she suffered are severe and traumatic. She has fractures in the back of her skull, head trauma, multiple fractures in her face and around her eye, multiple fractures in her hand and fingers, and extensive road rash covering her back and legs. She is now facing a long and painful recovery.

My sister is a hardworking mother of three children, and one of her children has a disability and depends on her daily care and support. She was doing exactly what she always does — going to work to provide for her kids — when this happened.

Before this tragic incident, she had been working hard and saving money to relocate closer to her job to better support her family and make her daily commute safer and easier. Now, that plan has been put on hold.

Due to her injuries, her job has placed her on medical leave without pay. Thankfully, she will have a job to return to once she heals, but in the meantime she has no source of income and still has children and household responsibilities to care for.

We are asking for help to support her and her children during this critical time. Funds will help with:
• Rent and household bills
• Groceries and necessities for her children
• Transportation once she is able to return to work
• Medical and recovery-related needs
• Living expenses while she is on unpaid medical leave
• Relocation costs so she can move closer to her job once she recovers

Any donation, no matter the amount, will help relieve some of the financial stress so she can focus on healing. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping her in your prayers as she recovers from this traumatic event.

Our family is grateful for any support during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for helping a devoted mother focus on recovery without the added fear of how she will provide for her children.
