I'd like to introduce you to a friend- a hardworking, devoted, single father who is currently fighting cancer while trying to hold down a job and support his daughter. (For privacy reasons, his name is not being shared publicly, but please know that 100% of all donations will go directly to him for medical and household expense while he recovers).

He grew up in an environment marked by the most severe abuse imaginable eventually being placed in state custody and spending years moving from one foster home to another. Despite these hardships, he has shown remarkable resilience and is now a devoted single father to a sweet five-year-old girl, whom he cares for most nights each week. He has held the same full-time job for over fifteen years, maintains a home for himself and his daughter, pays child support, and has always managed to get by, even when times were tough.

Several weeks ago, his life changed dramatically when he received a sudden diagnosis of an aggressive form of cancer. The side effects of chemotherapy and the urgent need for surgery have made it impossible for him to work, and because his job pays solely on commission, no work means no pay. While he has good health insurance, the co-pays and deductibles have left him in a financial hole that feels insurmountable. One of the hardest parts is that he does not have a family. He is alone with his daughter and lacks the support he needs. My friend and I have helped where we can, but what he needs most is relief from the overwhelming financial burden so he can focus on healing and caring for his daughter.

He is one of the most humble, thankful, and appreciative people I have ever known. He is exhausted physically and mentally, and so deserving of finally catching a break.
