SUPPORT FOR A BELOVED FAMILY AFTER DEVASTATING HOUSE FIRE
Donation protected
My name is Lisa Grande. I am the long-time neighbor, and my husband was raised by the folks that lost their house in this fire on April 14th, 2025, on King Road.
This has been devastating for them. They are both elderly, and one is very disabled.
Though insured, as we all know, that doesn't help in the immediate interim.
My Pops, John Smith, is employed as a semi driver out of the area and had just returned to work after being home with his wife, who had been suffering and hospitalized from a serious illness. Mom, Edna Smith, was just released from the hospital just days before the fire.
As you can see, they lost everything.
They have been staying at a local hotel. But money is running out fast for them, and for all who are supporting them at this time.
The insurance company is asking that they find an apartment to live in until the home is rebuilt. Insurance will help cover the rent, but they will need to support themselves in the time being.
It could easily be another 6 months before construction of the home can be started.
They are in need of help.
They have been in this home and community for over forty years.
John, at one time, was a part of the West Whiteland Fire Company and gave so much of himself to serve the public!
Please help us get them back on their feet. We aren't asking a lot, just enough to secure the needs of a home and the ability to buy some immediate necessities for said home.
Also, if anyone knows of any 1-bedroom rental homes with no stairs, please contact Heather, their daughter. Please PM me and I will give you her phone number.
