In a freak accident, on 4/28/2026, Bailey, Stephanie and their son Manny were using the grill in the backyard to make s'mores. Ash and ember sparks landed on papa's old cans of gun powder that had been temporarily stored on the back porch. In a second, the gun powder exploded, causing severe burns on both of Bailey's hands, arms, legs, and Manny's arms too. The family was thrown into crisis in an instant, and their lives have been turned upside down as they face a long road to recovery. Bailey is in ICU in Tampa, he will receive Hyperbaric oxygen therapy and will be getting surgery for artificial skin grafts. Then he will be transferred to recover in the burn unit.
The funds raised will go directly toward hospital bills, travel expenses for Stephanie (Bailey's wife) and Manny to visit Bailey in Tampa, and the many recovery costs ahead. Neither Bailey nor Stephanie will be able to work for the foreseeable future, as Stephanie will also be recovering from childbirth in a few short weeks. The family is doing everything they can to stay strong and support each other, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
Thank you for donating to the Richards family. They take great pride in earning their own way and working hard for what they have, so accepting charity isn’t easy—but they will need support during this difficult time and as much help as they can get during the next few months. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference as they heal and rebuild.
