It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Qwayne McClain.
In the early morning hours of January 18th, around 2:00 AM, Qwayne was involved in a tragic head‑on collision on I‑80 in Fairfield while heading home with a friend after visiting another friend in Sacramento. At just 21 years old, Qwayne’s life, his friend and the other driver’s life was cut short, and our family is shattered by this sudden loss.
Qwayne was born with juvenile diabetes, a challenge he faced with incredible strength. After surviving a severe diabetic ketoacidosis episode as a child, he learned to manage his condition with discipline and maturity beyond his years. He never let his diagnosis define him—only his determination did.
He was a loving, caring, and polite young man who brought joy to everyone who knew him. Qwayne took tremendous pride in his accomplishments. He worked hard, saved diligently, and bought his own car. He refused to drive until he earned his driver’s license and secured insurance—waiting nearly six months because he wanted to do everything the right way. That was who he was: responsible, humble, and quietly proud.
To call Qwayne an angel feels like an understatement. He was meek, gentle, and soft‑spoken. He didn’t drink or smoke. He had just started a new job he was incredibly excited about. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, a sports fan, an avid manga reader, and a genuinely beautiful soul.
Qwayne is deeply loved by his parents, Douglas II. and Alecia Williams‑McClain. They have a blended family of nine children, whom they share seven children together, ranging in age from 12 to 36. Their home is full of love, and this loss has left a painful emptiness that words cannot describe.
His passing was unexpected, and we are unprepared for the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses. We want to give Qwayne the memorial he deserves—to honor his life, his kindness, and the light he brought into this world.
We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of his funeral services. Our goal is to raise $10,000 so they can lay Qwayne to rest with dignity and love.
Any amount, no matter how small, will truly help our family during this heartbreaking time. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
With love, The McClain & Williams‑McClain Family
