Support for Mari's Fight Against Polycythemia Vera [PV]

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits. Our beloved daughter, Mari, has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer. This news has turned our world upside down, but we are determined to fight this battle with everything we've got.

Mari's Story

Mari is a single mother to her 5-year-old son, Brees, and a dedicated daughter, sister, and friend. She has had a difficult journey, suffering a personal attack a few years ago that left permanent scars, both physically and mentally. Now, it's our turn to support her in this challenging time.

The Challenge

Mari's initial treatment plan includes daily baby aspirin and monthly phlebotomy treatments in order to thin out her blood to prevent blood clots. Polycythemia Vera causes the bone marrow to make too many red and white blood cells as well as too many platelets, making her blood too thick.

The goal of this treatment plan is to reduce symptoms and complications of the disease.

In the meantime, the bills are piling up, and the costs of daycare for Brees, along with everyday expenses, are becoming overwhelming. Mari has been doing Door Dash and similar food delivery services to supplement her income however, that is now limited due to her extreme fatigue, and our family is doing everything we can to support her, but we need your help.

• Daycare for Brees: Ensuring he has a safe and nurturing environment while Mari undergoes treatment.
