My daughter is 27 months old. After being concerned about her soft spot not closing for months and being told by her old pediatrician last week that it was nothing to worry about , I made the decision to switch her doctor , her new doctor ordered a report and my daughter got taken for CT scans on October 23rd. Turns out it’s very abnormal and a big concern , so thank God I switched doctors. Based on what was seen she has fluid building up in her brain , and they don’t want the spot to close up because of how her brain is forming due to the head trauma she had at 3 months old from her birth dad throwing us off the bed and her hitting the floor. Her doctor is now calling in an URGENT referral to a neurosurgeon and she will be seen at Cooks Hospital in Fort Worth. She’s now going to have to be closely monitored by doctors and get a tube in her head to drain the fluid to her stomach and they have to see what kind of procedure she’s going to need to treat the condition she has and what they can do about the way that part of her brain is growing. This has had such a big impact on me as a mom. Her holidays were suppose to be perfect this year. Last year I was dealing with being homeless in the domestic violence shelter with her with absolutely nothing . I built everything up from scratch and got us to where we are where she has everything she wants and needs , I finally got us a roof over our head in March , got a full time job to provide for her and set everything up for us to have an actual home this has came and knocked us back down. She is the sweetest baby and anyone that has met her can tell you how sweet and easy she is. She’s never been hard to deal with and she loves to love on everyone she’s use to. She has the brightest smile and thinks everything is funny. Her laugh is my reason. She’s always been so full of joy no matter what. I hate that this is happening to her innocent soul. She does have medical insurance to cover part of the expenses however we won’t have the funds to cover hotel stays if she’s not an impatient, or gas to all the appointments she’s going to be attending now, along with funds for food . It’s just me and her . Not everyone has a village and I’ve never asked for handouts. I’ve worked very hard to accomplish all that we have. My income goes straight to maintaining our apartment and bills and I can’t afford to be left with nothing or losing our home. We already lost our car 2 weeks ago due to a person running a red light and hitting me resulting in it being totaled. So we’re already struggling with rides and getting places. This is just another obstacle added on. But God always pushes through. Anything helps to help us maintain our basic needs as we start this long process . Thank you
