Support Foothill grad impacted by COVID-19!

Hi everyone! I’m asking for your support for my dear friend and FHDA alum Tiffany Nguyen, whose mom is currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

Tiffany  has worked extremely hard in community college over the past two years to earn her spot at UCLA this fall: as a full-time, first-generation student, holding down multiple jobs, and positively impacting the Foothill community as FHDACCD student trustee and APALI program coordinator. She won scholarships, including the President’s Service Leadership Award from Foothill College, to make it possible for her to focus on being a student this term and getting integrated at UCLA. Unfortunately, a time that should be full of excitement is a time of hardship for Tiffany and her family. 

Tiffany’s mother, an essential worker, was diagnosed with COVID-19 after being rushed to the emergency room on August 27th. She is currently in critical condition. Recovery will be a long process. Money should be the last thing Tiffany and her family have to worry about right now.

Her father, who is a truck driver, stopped working to come home and take care of their family while her mother is in the hospital. Tiffany supported their family throughout the past two years in community college with consistently 2-3 internships and jobs, scholarships, and financial aid. During this process, Tiffany took out around $10,000 of her savings for UCLA to help their family get by. She is still hoping to support her family and attend UCLA, however, housing and medical bills are a large barrier.

We are asking for your help to come together for Tiffany and her family, so that she can start school this September with a little less weight on her shoulders, and feel the love from her community.
