My name is Dana Kaiser-Davidson, a community member in Santa Cruz County, California. I am fundraising on behalf of a friend, Folla Al-Mashharawi. Folla is a loving mother of three daughters in Gaza, whose youngest daughter suffers from a retinal condition that is worsening without medical care.

Folla's story in her own words:

"We are a family of five from Gaza living through unbearable hardship because of the ongoing war. Our lives have been turned upside down. Every day is a struggle for survival.

I’m Folla. I live with my husband and our three daughters: Nada, Ghazal, and Lana.

My husband lost his job after his workplace was bombed. Since then, we’ve had no stable income. I’m a full-time mother trying to care for our daughters under impossible circumstances.

Our home is damaged from the airstrikes. We barely have enough food. There’s no access to proper education, and even the internet is a luxury we can hardly afford.

Our youngest daughter suffers from a retinal condition that’s worsening. She hasn’t seen a doctor in over two years. Her vision is deteriorating, and we are helpless, unable to get her the care she urgently needs.

Our Dream is Simple: A Life in Safety

Our children live in constant fear. They’ve been denied their basic rights, safety, education, and peace.

All we want is to live in peace without bombing, without hunger, and with dignity.
