Meet Fluff, the one-eyed rez pup from eastern Arizona. He is a chow mix with a chill, easy-going, and lovable personality. Fluff was given to me as a young puppy after his mom had poked his right eye out of its socket. Fluff was taken to a vet, where the eyeball was removed and the empty socket was stitched closed. Not long after, still a young puppy, Fluff went missing on the reservation.
After 18 months and believing him to be lost forever, I found him in another area of the reservation as a starved and mangy adult dog. But he could not be mistaken, even after so much time, with his permanent winking eye! He was scared and reluctant to come close to me but after nearly an hour, I was able to put him in my car and take him back to my house. It took months to see some changes in him as he slowly started to come inside the house, eat food regularly, and interact with people.
At the end of March, I took Fluff on the long road trip to Vermont, where Fluff would be staying with my Godmother, Jan. He has since been showing many more improvements and seems to be a genuinely happy boy, something I couldn't even imagine when I found him looking like a fluffy skeleton dog in the street just months earlier. Fluff has recently been diagnosed with a type of cancer that is transmissible and something he has likely had for months or longer. It is curable but very expensive with several rounds of chemo treatment. I am seeking donations of any amount to support Fluff's recovery from cancer. He has been through so much is his mere two years of life but he has a prospective family looking to adopt him and give him a proper home with the love and care he has always deserved.
Thank you so much for your support of Fluff, the sweet and goofy one-eyed pal. I know he appreciates it!
