Support Floyd's Fight for Life!

Donation protected
9/26 update- Floyd is still fighting. He got to talk a brief walk outside today and has been showing some of his spunk by trying to get into the hay room. He was ushered out which Floyd disagreed with by flipping the garage bin and trotted away. These are good signs! Please keep Floyd and Amanda in your prayers and send lots of good healing vibes. If you can donate, please do so.
This fundraiser is for a horse named Floyd and his human mom Amanda. As many of you know, Amanda is a hard-working and generous person. She has a big heart and loves animals. Recently, she adopted a horse named Floyd, a 14-year-old draft cross, through a rescue in Pennsylvania. In a short period of time, Floyd has found his way into her heart, as well as a few others who have had the chance to meet him. Floyd was described by his rescuer as having a super sweet personality who loves attention and cuddles. In the short time that Amanda has had him, he has proven to be just that. If you've ever been lucky enough to receive that kind of love from a horse, you know the meaning and the power of it.

On September 21st, Floyd suffered a severe episode of colic and was rushed to Cornell Animal Hospital. Floyd was brave and fought for his life more than any horse I have ever seen. Floyd underwent a life-saving surgery. During that surgery, a fatty lipoma tumor was found causing strangulation of the small intestine. Lipomas are often an incidental finding during surgery or necropsy and therefore are unknown to the owner. Floyd is still at Cornell fighting for his life, and there are challenges every day. Today, on September 25th, Floyd entered a clinical trial at Cornell Animal Hospital to give him every chance at life. As you know, animal care is very expensive. A $10,000 deposit had to be made before Floyd could go into surgery. That number is growing every day. Please consider helping Amanda with these expenses and bring Floyd home.
