I'm raising funds for my friend Florence Bradley, who paid $9,922 (updated as of 3.31.25) for the rescued puppy Parvo treatments out of the goodness of her heart. If you an donate even a small amount, we could take the financial burden away from Flo. Some friends have already contributed directly before the fundraiser started. We are trying to raise $8,000. If more funds than needed are raised, they will go to the dog rescue.
We found 4 abandoned puppies on a remote Bankhead National Forest trailhead while hiking last weekend. Three babies and a young pup were left with a dish of food, that was now empty. They were friendly and very hungry. Flo wanted to take them to the rescue and we were able to get them and bring them to the city. As contacts were made with rescues and shelters to find the takers, babies started to feel sick. Flo took them to the vet, where they were diagnosed with Parvo. The vet advised to treat them. After treatment they perked up and were doing better. Unfortunately the next day two of them, Rufus and Lily, passed away within hours. Flo was taking the third puppy back to Emergency Vet for treatment, where she remains.
The older pup, who is no older than a year old, is in good health and has received all the necessary shots from the Vet.
Amounts Paid to Clinics are:
- Avondale Animal Hospital $2,565, March 25, 2025 for 3 Parvo treatments;
- Steel City Emergency Animal Clinic $6,856, March 26 - March 31, 2025 for continuous emergency care for surviving puppy. Not a final bill.
- Britt Animal Hospital $501, March 26, 2025 for tests and vaccines for older pup.
4/5/25 Updated to add total amount spent.
