Help Us Get Flopsy Fixed and Get

Hi, my name is Phyllis, and my family and I live in Richland, Washington.

We have always had a soft spot for animals in need. Over the years we’ve opened our home to rescue cats, providing food, medical care, and a safe place to heal—paying for everything ourselves because we believe every animal deserves kindness.

A few months ago, an unexpected little soul hopped into our lives.

Flopsy, a young Holland Lop rabbit, appeared near our home all alone.

Domestic rabbits cannot survive for long in the wild, so we knew we had to help him. When we rescued him, one of his eyes was severely infected and swollen shut. It took weeks of cleaning, medication, and gentle care before the infection finally cleared. Although he’s doing much better today, he still has ongoing issues with that eye and will likely need it monitored throughout his life.

Despite everything he’s been through, Flopsy is incredibly sweet, curious, and full of personality. He has become a beloved member of our family and gets along wonderfully with our rescue animals.

Now it’s time for the next important step in his care—having him neutered.

Because rabbits are considered exotic pets, their veterinary care is much more specialized than that of dogs or cats. There are only a limited number of veterinarians who perform rabbit surgeries, and the cost is significantly higher than many people realize. Neutering is important for Flopsy’s long-term health and behavior, and it will help him live a happier, healthier life.

As much as we want to continue helping every animal that comes our way, the costs of caring for multiple rescue cats along with Flopsy are adding up.. We never want finances to stand in the way of giving an animal the care it needs.
