The Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) is issuing an urgent appeal for humanitarian assistance as Sri Lanka faces one of its most severe flood disasters in recent years. Torrential rains connected to Cyclone Ditwah have triggered widespread flooding and deadly landslides across the island, leaving families stranded, homes destroyed, and entire communities cut off from essential services.
Current Situation (as reported by national authorities and emergency agencies): The extreme weather has resulted in dozens of confirmed deaths, with more casualties expected as search and rescue operations continue.
