Support Flody’s Urgent Surgery
$5,175 raised of $4.5K
I was born on Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. My mother is Filipino, my father is American. When I was still a baby, my mother made the hardest decision of her life—she left her family, her home, and everything familiar to move to the United States because she believed it would give me a better chance at life.
Growing up, I watched her sacrifice quietly. No matter how little she had, she always found a way to send money back home. Even twenty dollars—because she knew how far the American dollar could go for her family in the Philippines. She never hesitated. Family came first.
When I was 22, my mother passed away from cancer at just 46 years old. With help from family here, I traveled to the Philippines to bring her home—to finally meet the family she had spent her life supporting from afar.
That trip changed me forever.
I saw how my mother lived for half her life. They had very little in terms of money, but they were the richest people I had ever met. They had community. They laughed easily. They shared meals. No one was staring at a screen. Neighbors knew each other. They lived simply—and fully.
Since my mother’s passing, I’ve felt a responsibility to continue what she started. I send what I can when I can, because I know how much it matters.
On December 8, that responsibility became urgent.
My cousin Flody was involved in a motorcycle accident that fractured her jaw and chin. She needs surgery as soon as possible, including a titanium plate to repair the damage. Without it, she risks permanent complications and ongoing pain.
This is why I’m asking for help.
Any amount—no matter how small—can make a real difference. Your generosity will go directly toward Flody’s surgery and recovery. This isn’t just medical care; it’s dignity, healing, and the chance for her to move forward.
My mother believed deeply in helping family, even when it meant sacrifice. I’m trying to honor that belief—and I can’t do it alone.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting in any way you can.
