A Disabled Veteran’s Best Friend Needs Surgery

My name is Deb Page, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for help.

My husband, Bill Page, is a 100% disabled U.S. veteran who served multiple tours overseas. After years of service and sacrifice, we’ve made a peaceful home together in the mountains of Fries, Virginia. Life here is quiet and healing—but the true heart of our home is our one-year-old beagle, Flare.

Flare is smart, playful, and full of personality. She makes us laugh every single day and brings an incredible sense of calm and joy to Bill’s life. For Bill, Flare isn’t just a pet—she’s a companion, a source of emotional support, and a piece of stability that helps him through each day.

Recently, Flare suffered a torn ACL in her left rear leg. It’s heartbreaking to see her limping, unable to run or play. The vet told us that **because she’s so young, she has an excellent chance of making a full recovery—**but only if she gets surgery soon.

The estimated cost of surgery and care is around $3,000, and with Bill on a fixed disability income, we’re struggling to cover it.
