Yet Nine Mile is not alone, across Jamaica, many other parishes have also been devastated, with entire communities left homeless, crops destroyed, and infrastructure washed away. The destruction extends far beyond a single village, affecting thousands of Jamaicans whose lives have been upended in an instant.

This GoFundMe is presented by Flagman Judah, a true son of Nine Mile. Born and raised in the village, he has long been a guiding figure within the community, a mentor, a protector, and a cultural custodian. Deeply respected by elders and youth alike, Flagman has dedicated his life to uplifting others and honouring the legacy of his homeland. From working alongside Bob Marley’s mother, Cedella Booker, to spending over twenty years performing with Damian Marley and the wider Marley family, he has carried the message and soul of reggae across the world with humility and pride.

For Flagman, this mission is profoundly personal. Nine Mile is not simply a place of history, it is home. The farms that fed the community, the gardens that supported families, and the sacred land that shaped the Marley legacy are the same spaces that shaped him. With crops destroyed, soil displaced, and families left without the means to rebuild, restoring these farms and gardens is essential. It is not just about repairing damage; it is about securing food security, preserving cultural heritage, and rebuilding a foundation for future generations.

But Flagman’s heart extends beyond his own district. While his roots are deeply planted in Nine Mile, he is committed to supporting other affected parishes across Jamaica as well.
