Support Fitchy’s Road to Recovery
Football can be a cruel game. On March 15th, during a Southern Counties East Football League (#SCEFL) Premier Division match between Glebe FC and VCD Athletic FC, James Fitchett (aka Fitchy) suffered a horrific injury—a broken ankle and lower leg—after an unfortunate collision with a VCD player. In a cruel twist of fate, the opposing captain was none other than his own brother.
A Devastating Blow
Fitchy is not just a dedicated footballer but also a self-employed professional, meaning his injury is more than just a physical setback—it impacts his livelihood. He now faces surgery, rehabilitation, and months of recovery, all without the safety net of sick pay.
Gratitude to the NHS
A huge thank you to the NHS ambulance staff who responded swiftly and provided exceptional care. Their professionalism and quick action ensured Fitchy got the urgent medical attention he needed.
