Our dear friend, Firoozeh Karimi, experienced an unimaginable tragedy this Sunday afternoon—she suddenly and unexpectedly lost her beloved husband, Ali Shirzadi. Ali was an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He was not only a brilliant scholar and dedicated educator, but also one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet. To those who knew him, Ali was a true friend—warm, thoughtful, and always ready to help others. Above all, Ali was an incredible husband and a devoted father. He leaves behind his loving wife, Firoozeh, and their beautiful 5-year-old daughter, Nila, who meant everything to him. He was truly the best dad—present, caring, and full of love.

This sudden loss has left Firoozeh and Nila heartbroken and facing an uncertain future. As they begin to navigate life without Ali, we want to come together as a community to support them during this incredibly difficult time. Funds raised will help ease the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses, immediate living costs, and ongoing support for Nila’s care and future needs.
