Hello hello, I’m Tamunoibifiri Fombo, also known as Firi Fombo. I'm a creative media artist and cultural entrepreneur dedicated to developing and documenting creative and cultural ecosystems - I also recently founded IbifiriWari, a company committed to this same cause through management and development of creative people and projects, strategy development consulting, cultural and curatorial advisory and creative production.
I'm excited to announce that I've been accepted into the Cultural Policy, Relations, and Diplomacy master's program at Goldsmiths, University of London, starting in September 2024– this means I'll be moving to London from Toronto in July/August for this chapter.
However, the scholarships I've applied for don't cover all expenses, especially as an international student. Therefore, I'm crowdfunding for my tuition and moving expenses, with a goal of raising 60,000 CAD. Your contributions will directly contribute to securing my spot in the program and making this dream a reality. Additionally, any funds raised beyond the goal will go towards supplementary costs like visa fees, housing deposits, and transportation.
My unconventional learning journey has instilled in me a resolute commitment to expanding my knowledge and capacity to contribute to creative and cultural ecosystems, particularly in Africa and the diaspora which is why this program aligns perfectly with my lifelong passion and will enable me to exchange knowledge with others on a similar path, benefiting our communities through both my independent work and initiatives at IbifiriWari.
