Urgent Support Needed for Fiona's Critical Medical Battle

Our beautiful 15-year-old Fiona is fighting for her life at Stanford Children's Hospital. Just days ago, she was attending school, practicing her violin, and rehearsing for a theater performances "the lightning thief" - passions that light up her loving spirit.

For those of you that know Fiona, she is an amazing musician, playing multiple instruments and an amazing singer. She dreams of being a Jazz singer, her favorite vocalist being Ella Fitzgerald.

What Happened

The speed of Fiona's illness has left us all in shock. On Monday, she was at school like any normal day. By Wednesday, she was diagnosed with the flu and sent home. Within 24 hours, her condition deteriorated so rapidly that she was rushed by ambulance to Stanford Children's Hospital, where she nearly didn't survive the initial hours.

Fiona's Current Condition

Fiona is currently:

- Medically sedated and intubated

- On full life support (ECMO) functioning as her heart, lungs, and kidneys

- Stable, but in critical condition

- Receiving intensive care from Stanford's world-class medical team

The doctors anticipate she'll need to remain on these life-supporting machines for at least a couple of weeks as they fight to reduce the infection and help her body regain function.
