Fiona has always been the person to show up for other people. She is an incredible woman and now she needs us. At 34 years old she’s been diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. This has understandably turned her world, and everyone who loves her, upside down.
Since her diagnosis she has frozen her eggs because the chemotherapy will impact her choice to conceive in the future.
Cancer comes with so many decisions that most people don’t have to think about and while Fiona’s job can support her for three months she will need to be on leave for much longer.
The treatment plan she’s looking at requires 4 months of chemotherapy before surgery and then continuing chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy.
Cancer is scary enough on its own and her friends and family would like to at the very least make the financial burden less daunting.
Many family and friends have been asking how they can help, which Fiona is notoriously bad at asking for, but with a lot of encouragement she has accepted the gofundme.
Thank you all for the support, we know cancer takes a village and this helps Fiona while also maintaining her autonomy.
