Support Fiona and Mary After Loss

Abraxos, my fiancée's service dog of almost 8 years and our longtime best friend, has unexpectedly passed away. He started acting strangely and was breathing laborously, so we rushed him to the emergency vet. Almost immediately upon arrival, his heart stopped. The vet acted quickly to give him CPR but was, heartbreakingly, unsuccessful.

The cost for his CPR alone is $730, and we are paying a separate $340 bill for his cremation.

Abraxos was a true friend, a silly companion, and the sweetest of boys. We are so truly devastated by his loss, to the point that we're feeling a bit lost and helpless ourselves. He was just such a loud, bright, constant spot in our lives that it's hard to imagine a day, let alone a lifetime, without him.

If you could help us in this time, it would be so greatly appreciated. I am an elementary school teacher trying to support us on just my salary, and quite honestly, this vet bill feels.. a bit like extortion, when we had nowhere else to turn at 10PM on Superbowl Sunday. We truly had no space or time to really grieve before immediately having to worry about paying this bill.

We hope to shine a light on Abraxos, since he was such a light for us, and to be able to grieve him properly and fully as the beautiful, wonderful, irreplaceable friend and family that he is to us.
