Support Finn's Medical Emergency

Hi Y'all <3

I'm reaching out to you due to a massive alignment of bad timing. Finn had to have emergency surgery due to suspected foreign material in his gut. No foreign material was found, but surgeons did find inflammation of his intestines and discoloration on his liver. An X-ray also revealed nodules in his lungs and a sonograph found evidence of early chronic renal degeneration. More testing is required to diagnose if he has IBD or Lymphoma. We've been treating for IDB for years, that combined with recent findings are pointing more and more to cancer.

This event follows on the heels of a move that doubled my rent (while my previous landlord continues to pursue me for more money), threats of eviction, 6 months of unemployment and food stamps, searching unsuccessfully for a job in a failing economy, and putting countless hours into ramping up a small business (that I'm on the cusp of being successful with).

Truly any amount that feels comfortable for you to give is a huge blessing for us both. I've been paying for everything with credit and savings, but those resources are rapidly dwindling and there's still a long way to go. I'm presently vulnerable in the event of another expensive emergency.

If you're not in a place to donate financially, please share this fundraiser with comfortably-resourced friends and family. Tell them how you know myself and Finn and maybe share a memory or two. Anything you can do to illustrate the relationship you have with either of us is wonderful and incredibly helpful <3

The trajectory of my life and finances are on an upswing and this will help me regain my footing in a huge way. I know my business will be successful and my list of clients is getting longer each week.

Finn will make it through this, he's a tough little guy and we have the privilege of excellent veterinary care through Kenton Animal Hospital and Dove Lewis.

Your contributions will help cover:
  • Exam Fees
  • Medications
  • Surgery & Biopsies
  • Diagnostic testing & treatment
  • Specialty food for restricted diet
  • Veterinary medical debt
  • Replenishing my savings
  • Preparing for future tests, treatments, and emergencies
  • End of life care if it becomes necessary

Finn is a certified ESA and is exceptional at his job. He has so many friends and loved ones across the country. If you're reading this, chances are you know how deeply I love him and that I would do anything to care for him.

So that's why I'm asking you all for help. If this were an isolated event I would be able to take the blow. However this comes at an already financially tumultuous time, I'm afraid I won't be able to recover before another emergency hits.

I want Finn to have the best quality of life possible, whether that's exploring cancer treatment options, amplifying existing care for IBD, or making him as comfortable as possible with the time we have left together. I'm nowhere near ready to let him go, but I'm not going to make him suffer for it.

This whole experience has shaken me wholly and left me exhausted, severely stressed, anxious, fearful, angry, and deeply sad that my time with Finn could come to an early end. Everything you choose to give improves the quality of life for both of us.

Below is a breakdown of what I've spent so far:
  • $1,820.37 - emergency exam, x-ray, ultrasound, medications to treat nausea and inappetence.
  • $34.77 - additional medication for pain management
  • $7,723.52 - ultrasound following continued inappetence, emergency surgery, biopsies, lab testing, and treatment medications.
  • $29 - Probiotic & Fiber supplements for diarrhea
  • $95 - Annual exam & post-ER follow up
  • $0 - Removal of surgical staples
  • $225 - Establishing care with Internal Medicine Specialist
Total as of 2/23/2026: $9,927.66
Minus Insurance max payout: -$5,000
Total Out-of-Pocket to date: $4,927.66

Upcoming Exams, Diagnostic, & Treatments needs:
  • PARR test to confirm or dismiss possible cancer diagnosis ($1,173.04)
  • Ongoing veterinary specialist visits ($125+ per visit)
  • Medications & Special Diet Support ($160+ per month)
  • Potential Cancer Treatment ($1,000 - $4,000+)

I'll keep you all updated on Finn's condition. It's currently looking like he's sitting right on the line between IBD and Lymphoma diagnosis. Hopefully that means we're catching it early enough to give him a good quality of life for the next couple of years. If that's not the case, I promise I will make choices that prioritize his happiness and wellbeing.

Thank you all so much for your support!

Lovingly,
Clover & Finn <3
