Finn Collins has been held in prison without trial since July 2025. He is accused of involvement in a direct action to disable weapons at a facility belonging to Israel’s largest arms manufacturer, Elbit Systems, at Filton near Bristol in August 2024.
Along with 23 other accused - known as the Filton24 - Finn has been denied bail and will remain in prison until trial. In Finn's case, this will not be until February 2027, meaning he'll spend 18 months in prison, not convicted of any offence, before he gets a chance to defend himself in court.
Surviving the isolation
Prisons are designed to isolate people, to keep them separated from family, carers, friends and loved-ones. Finn's prison is remote, on an island many miles away from his family. It's a 100 mile round-trip, taking almost 4 hours each way. This makes visits difficult and expensive. It's essential for Finn's wellbeing that his family can travel to see him every week.
Phone calls from prison are super expensive. Companies are raking in profits from contracts with the prison service, exploiting prisoners who have no other options. It's vital that Finn has credit in his phone account to keep in touch with his lawyer, and his family and friends.
Health and wellbeing
Prison takes a toll on the body and mind. The food is crap and unhealthy. Finn needs to spend money every week buying his own food, supplements and vitamins.
Unsurprisingly, in prison, mental ill-health is the norm, not the exception. In addition to keeping in touch with family and friends, having some money to buy things like books, CDs (yes - CDs are still a thing!) and his own clothing all helps Finn to keep mentally strong.
Solidarity forever
Finn is imprisoned because he is accused of taking action to dismantle weapons to be used in the genocidal attack on Gaza. Your donation will help Finn to stay connected with his lawyer, friends and family, to fight his legal case, and to keep him strong in mind, body and soul. It is also an act of solidarity against a political system that criminalises protest and direct action and is complicit in genocide.
