Support Finley's Recovery from Brain Surgery

Story

This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do—swallow our pride and ask for help. We know that opening up like this may come with judgment or criticism, but right now, our focus is on doing what’s best for our son, Finley. As many of you know, Finley recently underwent a very invasive brain surgery. Doctors removed his entire right temporal lobe, along with parts of his occipital, parietal, and frontal lobes. This surgery was not a decision made lightly—it was our last resort in giving Finley a chance at a better quality of life. Finley was born with a rare genetic disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), which causes benign tumors (tubers) to form throughout the body, especially in the brain. Finley has over 60 brain tubers and experiences anywhere from 3 to 10 seizures a day. The combination of frequent seizures and heavy medications has caused significant developmental delays, especially with his motor skills. The goal of this surgery is to reduce his seizure activity by at least 70%—and with God’s grace, we are praying for even better results. As parents, asking for help is incredibly difficult. But right now, we are doing everything we can to stay by Finley’s side during this critical recovery period. Unfortunately, we anticipate being out of work for at least six weeks post-surgery, and as many know, bills don’t pause during hardship. We are simply trying to avoid having to make an impossible choice between returning to work too soon or continuing to be fully present for our son during his recovery. If you are in a position to help, we would be deeply grateful. Any donation, share, or prayer means the world to us and to Finley. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and please know that this request comes from the most humbled and loving place in our hearts. With love and gratitude, Ryan, Becky, and Finley
