Hi guys,

This is a fundraiser being organized by friends of Fiifi Anaman, with his express consent, to support him as he navigates a particularly difficult period in his life.

For those who may not know Fiifi, he is one of the most talented and hardworking Ghanaian journalists out there (visit his blog here ). Much of his life's work has been devoted to documenting Ghana's football history and bringing attention to the less celebrated but equally important aspects of our nation's favourite pastime.I could go on listing Fiifi's credentials but that is beside the point for now.

Today, Fiifi needs our support.

On 8 October, Fiifi shared a deeply personal and heartbreaking account of his decision to discontinue his PhD studies at Michigan State University. In doing so, he spoke openly and courageously about his struggles with mental health and the difficult circumstances that have brought him to this point.

Moving back to Accra at this point in time and in these circumstance would not be easy.

This is where we come in as friends, loved ones, and supporters of Fiifi.

We are organising this fundraiser to help ease Fiifi's transition back to Ghana and provide him with some financial stability as he takes the time to resettle in Ghana and return to his beloved work of telling the Ghana football stories that ought to be told!

Fiifi has spent years telling stories that matter to us. At this difficult moment in his own story, we hope we can come together to support him.
