Support figure skater Josefin Taljegard's career

Hi!

I’m Josefin Taljegard, a Swedish figure skater, and I became an Olympian during the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022. During the competition and throughout my career, I’ve tried to be a good role model, and I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback about that from the audience, other skaters, coaches, media and members of the Swedish federation and Swedish Olympic commitée. People within the skating community and those who find it a lovely sport to watch have expressed their appreciation for me still skating at an elite level even though I’m 26 years old and always bring something new and original to my programs. People often describe me as a powerful, energetic and entertaining skater.

I plan to continue skating and my goal for next year is the World Championships in Japan. I will have to work hard to get there, which I’m very motivated to do. What is more difficult is finding the funds needed to pay for summer camps, sporting equipment, ice-time, coaches, travel expenses, living expenses, and more.

The Swedish federation tries to help with some of the expenses, but unfortunately, their funds are limited, being a small federation in a small country. Although it’s not practically possible for me to combine a full-time job while skating at this level, I try to do my best to earn money; I work for my club, coach kids and choreograph programs.

I wish to learn from my own experiences training and competing around the world to one day become a great choreographer, helping other skaters to reach their fullest potential and push the boundaries of this sport artistic side. That is what makes figure skating so unique- that you get to combine your athleticism with your artistry.
