SUPPORT & FIGHT FOR MARISSA: BRAIN CANCER

10 years ago Marissa beat breast cancer only to find out three days ago that it has returned. This time in her brain. She will be going in for more tests this week and is expected to have brain surgery next week. At this time there is no way of knowing how long recovery and treatment will be. I will say... Marissa is a fighter and is ready to go the distance.

Anyone that knows Marissa knows that she is a vibrant spirit. Her energy and enthusiasm for life draws people in. Her laugh is contagious and she has the unique ability to find joy in the little things. Disney World is her happy place which tells you a lot about her. She is a loyal friend who stands by you through thick and thin, unwavering in her support. She is devoted to her family; Christian, her husband, and their three children. Avery is a freshman at the University of Kansas, Ben will be a H.S senior in the fall and Emerson will be a H.S freshman in the fall. Because of this illness it breaks her heart that she will need to give up the job she loves which is working with special needs students.

First off, I would like to ask for positive thoughts and prayers. Marissa will need an army of warriors to help her fight. We know and understand the hardship this will have on her beautiful family mentally, emotionally and financially. I am asking for donations for her family to help with mounting medical bills and living expenses. The road ahead is going to be long and difficult, but with support from family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers, I have no doubt they can get through this. Thank you for your willingness to help them navigate the unimaginable!
