My name is Dharyl, and today I am reaching out with the heaviest heart I've ever carried. My father, Fidel Del Mundo, is fighting for his life. He is currently in a coma at Tagaytay Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit in the Philippines.

Each day feels like a battle against time. Surrounded by machines, tubes, and the constant monitoring of doctors and nurses, my father lies unconscious — while we, his family, can only hold on to hope and prayer.

The costs of keeping him alive are staggering. The ICU alone comes with overwhelming expenses, and on top of that are the medicines, medical equipment, doctors' fees, and the round-the-clock care of nurses. In just a short time, our hospital bill has already risen to nearly ₱1,000,000 (about $20,000 USD) — and it continues to climb every single day.

We are a family of nine. I am the eldest, working as a teacher here in the United States, trying my best to support from afar. My younger siblings back home want desperately to help, but they simply cannot provide the huge amount of money needed. No matter how hard we try, we cannot keep up with the costs that are mounting every hour my father remains in the ICU.

What breaks me the most is that I am thousands of miles away. My greatest prayer is to be able to fly back home to the Philippines and see my father again — to hold his hand, to tell him how much I love him, and to let him know he is not alone in this fight. I want to see him open his eyes and hear his voice again.
