Support Ferrell's Dream: Keep Chicken King Open

In 2021, Ferrell Scott walked out of prison a free man — after serving 13 years of a life sentence for cannabis, he was granted clemency by President Donald Trump, finally getting the second chance he deserved. Now 62 years old, Ferrell came home determined to rebuild his life and give back to his community — and he did just that.
He opened Chicken King, a small restaurant in Duncanville, Texas, with dreams of building a legacy and showing what redemption truly looks like. But now, Ferrell needs our help to keep that dream alive.
Recently, Ferrell made the tough decision to leave the franchise and run his business independently. This sparked a conflict that quickly escalated, drawing in city officials and triggering inspections that led to unexpected shutdowns and costly repairs. With no income during this time, Ferrell has fallen months behind on rent for his restaurant and apartment, where he lives with his adult son, who works alongside him in the business.
They’ve already been evicted from their home and are at risk of losing the store that represents Ferrell’s second chance.
But there’s hope: an upcoming inspection could allow Ferrell to reopen Chicken King and get back on his feet. He just needs some help making it through the storm.
