Support Our Captain, Fernando " Nando" Salazar

Dear friends, family, and community,

I am reaching out to you today to share the story of an incredible man who has always been there for others—Fernando Salazar, affectionately known as "The Captain." Fernando is not just a best friend and coworker; he is a beacon of kindness and support in our lives.

Fernando has a heart of gold. Whether it was comforting a terminally ill friend during difficult times, stepping up as an assistant coach for the 8th grade girls Templeton Middle School basketball team, or bringing homemade rice and beans to my daughter Kiley when she was home sick, he has always shown a willingness to help those in need. His compassion knows no bounds, and he has been a pillar of strength for his grandma, girlfriend of many years, mom, sister, niece , nephews, friends, and colleagues.

Unfortunately, Fernando's journey took a difficult turn seven weeks ago when he was admitted to the emergency room with valley fever and pneumonia. After spending a week and a half in the hospital, he returned home but is facing a long recovery. His condition has left him reliant on oxygen, and he has lost over 25 pounds. The road to recovery has been challenging, and he has been unable to work during this difficult time.

As you can imagine, the medical bills have begun to pile up, and the stress of potential collections is weighing heavily on him. It breaks my heart to see someone who has given so much to others now facing such hardship.

We are asking for your help to support Fernando during this difficult time. Your contributions will go directly towards his medical bills and living expenses, allowing him to focus on healing without the added burden of financial stress.

Every little bit helps, and your generosity will make a significant difference in Fernando's life. He is not someone that would ever ask for help and feels much better when he is the one helping others but he is in need of it during these tough times.

Let's come together as a community to show our love and support for The Captain, who has always been there for us.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

With gratitude,

The Sudbrink Family
