Dear Family, Friends and Community,

On Friday 7/19/2024 at 2:23 AM heaven gained an angel. This tragedy was so unexpected and has hurt the hearts of many people. Fernando Piña was a kind hearted, caring man of God who loved and got along with everyone. We've never met a person who didn't like him. If you met him you'd know just how true that is. He dedicated a big part of his life towards helping others and improving their day. He had a wife of 29 years, 3 children, 2 grandchildren and a daughter-in-law. He was the light in all of our lives. It's hard to believe he's gone. Everything happened so fast. He always knew how to make us laugh a lot and bring us closer together.

Fernando cared so much for everyone in his life, especially his two grandsons. The older of the two, Andrew, let us know that grandpa was in heaven before anyone had told him any details. Fernando cared so much that he made sure to let his little grandson know that he is okay, so that he could pass this message to us. We know he is resting in heaven and we will get to see him again one day. Until then, we know that he would want us to carry on with his spirit in our hearts. He never let anyone ruin his day or bring him down. He always wanted to make sure that everyone felt included and was having a good time! He worked long days, 6 days a week, but always made time for family, no matter how tired he was. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

In our time of grief, we are reaching out to ask for any help no matter how small. The funds will go towards covering the cost of medical bills, funeral expenses and spreading his ashes. He wanted to have his ashes spread in Santa Cruz and his hometown in Los Caños, Aguascalientes, Mexico.
