We are heartbroken to share that Fernando Cruz, a man who embraced life with unmatched passion and loved his family with his whole heart, passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2025, at just 42 years old.
Born in Richmond, TX on August 16, 1983, and a proud Houston resident, Fernando lived a life defined by loyalty, hard work, and adventure. For 23 years, he worked as a Lead Maintenance Technician, the one everyone could count on—whether it was a broken system, a tough project, or a problem no one else could figure out. If something needed fixing, Fernando was the man for the job.
Outside of work, Fernando was all about family, laughter, and living life to the fullest. He loved hitting the trails on his dirt bikes and four-wheelers, spending quiet mornings with a fishing pole in hand, and enjoying time at the shooting range. But more than anything, he loved being “Dad” and “Grandpa.” His kids and sweet granddaughter were his heart, his purpose, and his joy.
Fernando was the friend who always showed up—no questions asked. He was the guy with the joke that made your day better, the smile that made things feel lighter, and the loyalty that made you feel safe. His generosity, humor, and steady presence touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Fernando leaves behind a family who loved him beyond words. He is survived by his children: his son Fernando Jaime Cruz (and wife Valerie Trevino) and his daughter Jacelyn Mia Cruz; his granddaughter, Valentina Cruz; and his parents, Francisco Cruz and Graciela Zepeda Cruz. He also leaves behind his partner, Kristina Trimmer, and her cherished children: Samantha Barnett, Jade Guevara, Kaytlin Trimmer, and Jacob Barnett.
His sudden passing has brought immense grief, and the family is now faced with unexpected financial burdens—funeral expenses, memorial costs, and the challenges that come with losing someone so central to their lives.
We are asking for support to help ease this heavy load during an unimaginably difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference and help the family honor Fernando the way he deserves.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your generosity. Fernando will be deeply missed, but the stories of his adventures, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire us all to live a little more fully—just like he did.
