Support Fernanda (Fern) Gaspar and her family after a serious car accident

On February 19th, my dear friend and emerging jewelry artist Fernanda (Fern) Gaspar and her family were involved in a devastating car accident while her family was visiting her during a 9-month residency at Pocosin Art School of Fine Craft. Fernanda, her father, and her two younger siblings were all injured. Fernanda suffered a fractured pelvis in two places that required surgery, and her road to recovery, although going well, will be long. Her father also required surgery.

Following the accident, Fern's mother and stepfather flew from Mexico to North Carolina to be by her side. Due to medical advice that flying could worsen Fern and her sister's injuries, the family had to rent an RV and drive across the country, further straining their resources.

We are asking for your support to help this incredible family as they navigate the overwhelming financial and emotional challenges that have followed this accident. While there is a GoFundMe set up for Fern's dad and siblings, the funds raised with this one will go toward:

Fern's medical expenses, including treatment, therapy, and ongoing care.
Lost wages for Fern as she recovers and for her mother, who has taken time off to support her.
Travel and living expenses, including the cost of renting the RV and other unexpected costs along the way.
