Hi everyone, my name is Ferdinand. I am writing to request financial help for myself during this time. I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma since the summer of 2025, which is a cancer of the lymphatic system that has reached into my blood circulation.

I have previously worked as a security officer in D&D and had applied for temporary disability that only covered for three months. I am currently in my last sessions of chemotherapy, but before finishing my last chemo session, I ended up with an obstruction issue in my intestines, where another mass has grown in me that has caused me to not be able to eat and have been getting electrolytes through a PICC line. I have lost over 50 lbs during the beginning of my cancer; I was 210 lbs and now I am 150 lbs.

Due to becoming disabled, I have had difficulty being able to work and earn money to finance my needs and the buildup of bills and rent. Cancer unfortunately has run in my family; my mom passed away in 2019, who I was taking care of, and she died from cancer.

While I am coming to the end of chemotherapy, I still need money to pay off bills and take care of my dog, who is currently being taken care of by my uncle’s family. I am unable to work for at least a year as I go through my recovery journey.

As a working-class person living in NYC with roots in the Philippines, I have been struggling to make ends meet and living paycheck to paycheck off temporary disability, which came to an end soon. Now, with being hospitalized and requiring at least a year off work, I will not have paychecks coming in to support my needs, including rent, bills, food, personal care, and other expenses.

Please donate what you can, consider donating regularly even. Fighting disease and recovering is a collective effort, much like the fight against exploitation. Unfortunately, I am also an only child and I don’t have a big family here. It’s been really difficult to manage during this time, hence why I am reaching out through crowdfunding.
