Support Fendrick Gabaud's Family After Tragic Loss

Fendrick “Fen” Gabaud tragically passed away on August 22, 2025, shortly after completing a new-hire assessment to begin his dream career as a firefighter with Flagler County Fire Rescue. A recent graduate of Daytona State College’s Firefighter Minimum Standards and EMT program—along with completing the police academy in 2019—Fendrick was ready to dedicate his life to serving others. At only 40 years old, his journey was cut short far too soon.

Fendrick lived his life with courage, purpose, and an infectious joy. Known for his warm smile, vibrant personality, and unwavering devotion to his family, he was a shining light who brought happiness to everyone around him.

Born in Palm Beach County and raised in St. Lucie County, Florida, Fendrick was a talented athlete who played football and ran track and field in high school. In 2003, he moved to Volusia County, where he attended Bethune and quickly became an active part of the community. A true sports fan, he loved fitness and passionately cheered on his favorite teams—the Miami Hurricanes and the Baltimore Ravens.

Above all, Fendrick was a devoted husband and father. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and wife, Alicia, and their two children, Aaliyah (10) and Leo (6). He was their biggest fan, never missing a single event or opportunity to support them.

Though he had not yet officially begun his career as a firefighter, Fendrick was—and will always be—part of the firefighter brotherhood, having already proven his dedication, strength, and commitment to serve.
