Hey guys! Sin here. I have some bad news.
Felix, got sick last night mid-stream. We realized after we put him in a kennel, so he could eat his wet food in peace. When we took him out and put him on my desk, he was being a little slow, and weird. He didn't walk over to my keyboard and lay down in my arms like always. It's what had me instantly notice something was wrong.
I'm always checking his tummy in case it's ever gotten hard or anything. As I'm always anxious about UTIs and what they can lead to in a cat. Well down, by his private parts, up on the right side near where his leg starts it was a little hard. When I gently pressed he kind of got up. I could tell he didn't like it.
I kept an eye on him, until I saw him try to go potty and noticed he wasn't able to. I was up all night keeping an eye on him, waiting until the vet clinics open. As locally we don't have an emergency 24/7 one. Well, at 8am I called all the ones near me, even the ones 40-50 minutes away. None answered, and while looking everywhere I saw there was an emergency vet clinic a little further out. So we went, as soon as possible
We got there around 9, and didn't leave until around 11. They confirmed what I thought he had. A urinary blockage. Sadly, the estimate I was given was 3198 up to 3900$ just for the night. Tomorrow I have to pick him up, and take him to a local vet at 7AM. Where they will need to keep him for 24-36 hours. I don't know how much that second visit will be. Especially when the 3198 after interest on a 24 month plan on care credit came out to essentially 4000$ after interest. (Care Credit email states 17.90% apr and fixed monthly payments required for 24 months. The app won't let me see the full amount after interest.) I have attached the estimate invoice the clinic was able to provide me.
I got a call at 11:58 shortly after getting home. The vet saying they couldn't get past Felix' urethra in order to whatever it is that they needed to do. That he was going to need an invasive surgery that costs around 5-7 grand. I was crying, thinking I was going to lose him. That I wasn't going to be able to give him what he deserves. Only for 10 minutes later to get a call saying they were able to get it in, and sorry for the "roller coaster" of a call. They have no idea how much that fucked me up in the head.
While making this GoFundMe, I got a call saying Felix woke up and is more alert than he was earlier this morning. His Creatine levels, amongst other things were all extremely elevated. They are hoping everything slowly goes back to normal.
I was able to put the first visit on my care credit. However, I don't know how I'll be able to pay this off.
Please. Help me save Felix. Felix is my life. Everyone that's been to my streams knows how much Felix means to me. I'd literally do anything to save him. I'll sell anything. I'll give you anything. Just please, help me save him. He means the world to me. He's the bestest of cat dogs. He may be a cat, but he has the personality of a loyal dog. Just say his name and he'll run over to you :(
The GoFundMe's goal will change either lower, or higher depending on what I am told tomorrow when I pick up Felix. They informed me that the estimate can end up being lower or higher depending on what they end up doing.
