Many of you may know that just 7 years ago this beautiful family was faced with a similarly unfortunate fate. Felix & Shon dedicated their all in the fight to save their only child, baby Mia from a life of suffering. In the end, their precious Angel gained her heavenly wings just shy of her 2nd birthday, leaving her devastated parents to mend their broken hearts & somehow pick up the pieces to move forward. As a testament to their unwavering faith & resilience, Felix & Shon did just that. It wasn't easy, but in Sept. of 2020, God saw fit to bless them with another baby girl to love & cherish. Pharrah is their whole world, and her Father's twin. She was his second chance at having the baby girl he always wanted, and to 3 y.o Pharrah, Daddy is nothing short of her Knight in shining armor, & that he’ll always be around to catch her when she falls. They are truly inseparable. But we all know life is never that simple, and God truly does work in mysterious ways.
Felix has been diagnosed with Stage 3, Multiple Myeloma Cancer. After several months of chemo, it is still considered "aggressive" & has resulted in kidney failure. To manage the kidney dysfunction he is now on dialysis to stay alive. Doctors estimate a 2-3 year life prognosis at the most, but we believe that God will have the final say! Fighting cancer at any stage takes a major toll on every aspect of one's life, including work/ finances. Medical bills & everyday expenses pile up, as the person's health deteriorates and eventually prevents them from working. These are the problems Felix & his family currently face. We ask that friends, loved ones and those able to, pour their love & support into them & keep them in your prayers. Thank you in advance, so so much. Cherish your people while you have them. God Bless!
***All funds will be used towards increased insurance premiums & co-pays, the growing out-of-pocket expenses not being covered by insurance & to replace the substantial amount of Felix's lost wages. Nolonger a full-time employee, his work hours have been cut in half to accommodate weekly chemo sessions, several hours long rounds of dialysis every other day, frequent hospital stays and/or visits to receive blood transfusions, and most importantly, all of the downtime needed to recover from a variety of symptoms suffered.
