Querida familia y amigos,

A través de este medio, aprovecho para compartirles lo último sobre la salud de Felipe y contarles un poco de lo que hemos estado pasando.

Como muchos saben, ha sido un camino difícil que ha implicado cuidados médicos exhaustivos, numerosas visitas a urgencias, hospitalizaciones, terapias y periodos en que Feli no ha podido trabajar. La cantidad de fuerza que necesita para funcionar es inexplicable, y es inspirador ver cómo, a pesar de todo, él se levanta y lucha por dar lo mejor de él para poder mantener a nuestra familia, sin dudarlo ni un instante.

La búsqueda de un diagnóstico concreto ha sido larga y frustrante; a pesar de haber consultado a numerosos especialistas, hay síntomas que siguen sin explicación. Hasta ahora, sabemos que padece hipotiroidismo, cuerpos de Lewy y tiene un quiste en la pituitaria. Sin embargo, muchos de sus síntomas más severos parecen no estar relacionados con esas condiciones. Tan solo esta semana pasada, su neurólogo nos envió a la sala de emergencias con sospecha de meningitis, y aunque parece que no fue el caso, todavía hay que realizar una punción lumbar para confirmarlo.

Ver al amor de mi vida sufrir tanto es desgarrador, pero intentamos mantenernos positivos y aferrarnos a los días en que se siente algo mejor. Esta situación nos ha afectado muchísimo, tanto emocional como económicamente. Nuestro deseo es asegurar que Feli reciba la mejor atención posible sin cargar con estrés de más.

Muchos de ustedes me han preguntado cómo pueden ayudar, y estamos muy agradecidos por su preocupación y apoyo. Ahí la llevamos, y tenemos fe en que pronto daremos con el diagnóstico adecuado, pero en realidad no podemos solos con esto. Cubrir las cuentas médicas aunadas a los gastos diarios, es cada vez más difícil.

Este año, planeamos comenzar a integrar la medicina tradicional y la alternativa, con la esperanza de conseguir un enfoque más natural para su tratamiento y estilo de vida. Aunque contamos con un buen seguro médico, hay gastos de bolsillo que deben cubrirse, incluyendo pruebas y tratamientos que no se consideran "necesarios" según las pautas de la compañía aseguradora.

Dear all,

I am reaching out to share an update on Felipe’s challenging health journey and explain a bit of what we've been going through.

As many of you already know, it has been a difficult road involving extensive medical care, numerous ER visits, hospitalizations, therapies, and periods of time away from work. The amount of strength it takes Feli to function is inexplicable, and it is an inspiration to see that despite all of it, he continues to show up and do his best to provide for our family without hesitation.

The path to a clear diagnosis has been long and frustrating; despite seeing numerous specialists, many symptoms remain unexplained. So far, we know he is dealing with hypothyroidism, Lewy Bodies, and a cyst on his pituitary gland. However, a lot of his worse symptoms seem to be unrelated to these conditions. Just last week, his neurologist sent us to the ER with suspicion of meningitis, and although that seemed to not be the case, we still need to do a spinal tap for confirmation.

Watching the love of my life endure so much is heartbreaking, but we try to remain positive and hang on to the better days. This situation has taken a heavy toll on our family, both emotionally and financially, and our wish is to ensure that Feli receives the best possible care without any added stress.

Many of you have asked how you can help, and we are so grateful for your concern and support. We are figuring things out and are hopeful we’ll get closer to a proper diagnosis, but the reality is, we can't do this alone. The accumulating medical bills on top of everyday expenses are becoming increasingly difficult to manage.

This year, we aim to integrate traditional and alternative medicine, hoping for a more natural approach to his treatment and lifestyle. Although we have good insurance, there are out of pocket expenses that still need to be covered, along with those tests and treatments not considered “necessary” by insurance guidelines.
