Support Felipe in his recovery

Hola, my name is Marta and I am Felipe's wife. There is not much to add about myself for those who know me. I would like to thank those who don't know me for taking the time to read this through.

As immigrants, life can be challenging when living away from your roots: visas, uncertainty, language barrier, pandemics, unforeseen emergencies, and so on.

Felipe experienced an accident causing him a broken bone and he is having surgery today (3/3/2023). We are both unemployed: I am working here and there when I can but Felipe (chef) has been off work already for a month and will be for another 2 months until he is able to walk again.

I have become all of the sudden the main carer and the only support for the family. Insurance is only covering a small percentage and we have to pay all the medical expenses for his surgery: hospital, surgeon, anaesthetics, etc. All our hard work, of our time and effort, vanished in one click of an EPFOS machine.

Felipe will be, during the first 2 weeks, on a caster; then, he will have a boot for another 6 weeks and then he will start rehab. As a chef (where he is required to stand for long hours) we do not know when he will be able to jump into the stoves again, or if he will be able to do it at all. Doctors said that he will be fully recovered in 9 months.

Please, I would be very grateful if you could help me to help Felipe: we feel lost in the fog and we need help to find the way out, or better, the way back to the light, to the gratitude and therefore to the joy of life.

While I find a job this money will be used to help us to reassemble our lives without going into deep debt, it will help us to recover the money we had to spend for his urgent surgery, to pay the cost of his check outs, specialists and the cost of living.
