Over the years, she has faced many challenges related to her condition, including several serious diabetic episodes. Recently, her doctors have recommended that she undergo both a kidney and pancreas transplant—an essential step toward improving her quality of life and regaining her independence.

Felicia will need to travel approximately two hours from her home to receive the specialized medical care required for her transplant. This journey will involve numerous appointments before and after the surgery, which means she will be away from her family and familiar surroundings for an extended period.

The medical expenses are daunting, and on top of that, she will incur additional costs related to transportation, food, and lodging during her time away from home.
