Support Felicia's Recovery After Hijacking Trauma
Donation protected
My name is Sheri Gotro and I’ve had the pleasure to work at Cleveland Airport with Felicia Starkey.
This Tuesday, our dear friend and colleague Felicia, who works tirelessly at Huntleigh, endured a terrifying and traumatic experience.
While stopping at a gas station, Felicia was hijacked and physically assaulted by an individual who was later found to be allegedly under the influence of meth. During the incident, the assailant took control of the vehicle — a car Felicia had been borrowing from her mother — and caused a serious accident in front of the airport.
The hijacked car collided with another vehicle, which was carrying a family en route to pick up their unaccompanied minors (UMs) arriving at the airport. Because of the crash and ensuing security breach (the suspect jumped the airport fence), the situation escalated into a major disruption. The children’s flight had to be diverted to PIT (Pittsburgh) for safety reasons — turning a family reunion into a logistical and emotional nightmare.
Felicia is now facing medical recovery, trauma, and the potential financial burden of dealing with the aftermath — including damages to the borrowed car, legal complications, and missed work.
We’re asking for your support to help Felicia:
• Cover medical expenses
• Replace or repair the borrowed vehicle
• Recover lost wages
• Receive trauma counseling or support
• Get back on her feet after this traumatic event
No one deserves to experience something like this, and Felicia needs our community more than ever. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Even if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page.
Let’s rally around Felicia the way she’s always been there for others.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support♥️
