Who I Am:

Hi, my name is Felicia Charging Elk, and I’m a proud Native American living with a T4 spinal injury resulting from a drive-by shooting when I was 3. Growing up, the land and nature were more than just surroundings—they were part of who I am. But due to my disability, the ability to roam freely through forests, trails, and sacred spaces has been taken from me.

Why I'm Asking for Help:

Because of my limited mobility, I’ve been unable to access outdoor areas that were once a source of peace, connection, and healing. I recently discovered the Terrain Hopper—an all-terrain mobility vehicle designed for people with disabilities. This incredible device could give me the freedom to reconnect with nature, attend community gatherings, participate in cultural events on the land, and simply live with dignity outdoors.

Unfortunately, the Terrain Hopper is very expensive and not covered by insurance. That’s why I’m turning to you.

Terrain Hopper Overlander 4ZS: $33,000

Shipping and customization: $1,000

Possible maintenance or insurance: $1,000

Total goal: $35,000

Why This Matters

As a Native American, the land is not separate from my identity—it’s home, it’s medicine, and it’s my connection to my ancestors. Being outdoors isn’t just about leisure; it’s about healing, culture, and survival.

With your support, I can return to ceremony sites, visit family land, and simply feel the wind through the trees again. I would like to be able to go hunting, explore trails and connect with nature in a way where I don’t feel limited by my disability. I’ve been able to go to Yellowstone National Park and had a great time, but even there I was limited in the amount of trails I could go on and things I could see due to my disability. With the Terrain Hopper, there will be no trails too rough for me, no adventure out of reach. With the Terrain Hopper, I can finally get out and explore the amazing wilderness of Colorado and visit even more National Parks that were once too inaccessible and blaze my own trails.
