That Saturday afternoon, my sister found our Mama on the floor of her apartment. A healthy 75-year old, she had suffered a major stroke. It has shocked us all.
Since then, Felice has been by her side every single day, putting her career on hold to give Mama what Medicare can’t:
Time. Presence. Dignity in Recovery.
This is our one chance to get the next 8-12 months right.
What Your Gift Makes Possible
- Protects our one chance - Allows Felice to focus fully on Mama’s therapy, comfort, and progress - not financial stress.
- Keeps a roof overhead - Housing for Felice so she can stay near Mama during her recovery.
- Puts care within reach - Food, transportation, and supplies that Medicare doesn’t cover.
Hi, I’m Jason “JW” Womack, and I’m writing on behalf of my sister, Felice, and our Mama, Nancy. On July 5th, 2025, Felice unlocked Mama’s apartment discovered she had suffered a brain hemorrhage — and had been there, alone, suffering, for days.
First at the ICU for 22 days, and now at the Skilled Nursing Facility, Felice has been there every single day to:
- help Mama eat.
- manage therapy schedules.
- sit with doctors to ask the hard questions.
- make sure Mama never feels alone.
This is not just caregiving — it’s a life rebuilt from the ground up.
Felice has put her career completely on hold. There’s no paycheck coming in - just the irreplaceable work of giving Nancy what Medicare can’t:
- Time.
- Presence.
- Dignity in Recovery.
Right now, friends, neighbors, and people who’ve known our family through the years are stepping in. They are making it possible for Felice to keep saying “yes” to the daily work of recovery - work we only get one chance to do right.
If you’re reading this, you are part of the circle of people who can make sure Nancy gets the care she deserves and Felice has the support she needs. We can’t get these months back.
We can only make the most of them - together.
That’s where this fundraiser comes in.
