In January 2025, Fay tore her right ACL after an injury to her left leg caused her to overcompensate with her right leg. The vet and X-rays told us that the right ACL was torn and will likely need surgery. We got medicine and followed the doctor's orders to let her recover and let the leg stabilize, then check in with him after 2 weeks.

After around a month, we got a second opinion from a vet who does the surgeries himself and has a lot of experience. He informed us that Fay does, in fact, need what's called a 'tight rope' surgery to repair her right ACL. He also told us that she will eventually need the same surgery for her left ACL, most likely soon after she recovers from the first surgery. It's been a very heartbreaking start to the new year, to say the least.
