Who I Am:
My name is Sasha, and I live in British Columbia, Canada. I’m a communications professional and community advocate.
I am raising funds for a woman I’ve come to know personally through direct conversation: Fatima Najdi, a mother of eight living in Gaza. Over the past several months, Fatima and I have spoken regularly. Her strength, kindness, and resilience have deeply moved me—and I cannot look away while she and her children go hungry.
Who the Funds Are For:
This fundraiser is to support Fatima Najdi, a widow and mother of six surviving children: Khaled, Atallah, Mohammed, Yasmine, Sama, and Wissam, all of whom are living in the Gaza Strip.
Fatima’s husband and two sons (aged 22 and 15) were killed in the ongoing crisis. She and her surviving children are currently living in the remains of a damaged home after having sheltered in a tent. One of her sons, Atallah, is living with a head injury. Their situation is dire: they have no steady access to food, water, medicine, or basic supplies.
Despite all this, Fatima continues to be generous, prayerful, and full of love for her family. She told me, “The most important thing is that you explain my story with others.” So this is me doing that—sharing her truth with the world, in her name and with her blessing.
How the Funds Will Be Used:
Our goal is to raise $5,000 CAD to cover approximately three months of emergency support. Donations will go toward:
- Food & clean water (3 months): $2,100
- Medicine & hygiene supplies: $900
- Clothing & shoes for 6 children: $600
- Basic shelter repair/safety gear: $800
- Phone/data for coordination: $300
- Emergency buffer (fees/transfer): $300
Total Estimate: $5,000
If we raise more than our goal, additional funds will be used for long-term needs like shelter improvements, medical care for Atallah, or eventual relocation.
How I Will Get the Funds to Fatima:
Because GoFundMe cannot transfer funds directly to Gaza, I will withdraw them into my Canadian bank account and transfer the money to Fatima via a trusted PayPal account belonging to a friend in her local network who helps her access donations. This method has already been used successfully for past support.
- Fatima confirms receipt personally each time money is sent. I keep records of every transfer and will provide regular updates to show how donations are being used.
- If this method becomes unavailable or unsafe, I will switch to another secure method such as MoneyGram or Western Union, depending on what is accessible to Fatima at the time.
My priority is making sure your support reaches Fatima and her children directly, safely, and with dignity.
