Helping Ahmed & Dalia’s family to start life outside Gaza

Hi, my name is Elaine and I've started this fundraiser at the request of my dear friend Dalia, to help her and her family survive the onslaught in Gaza. I met Dalia couple of years ago while we were both working at the American International school in Gaza, and she was my Arabic teacher as well. The donation will go to her family to relocate in Qatar

Dalia's Story

"I was living in Gaza city in the northern side of Gaza strip where my 7 years old daughter used to go to private school and my twins Dima and Rima 4 years old used to go to kindergarten. Me and my husband had our work, but suddenly this changed, and a nightmare started to take place since the start of the war, we were forced to evacuate our homes in Gaza city and move to the south of Gaza. I did not know what to take with me for my kids as I had few minutes to leave and I had no idea how long I would be far away from my home, which I still pay its cost. I left to khan Younis and my daughters could not understand why they must leave their toys, books, and life in the city. During the destructive war that no one could stop, we lived with other families at one house until December. Again, the danger and fear started again as the land invasion started again to our family shared house. Accordingly, I must think again with my husband of a safe place for our kids where they do not have to wake up in the night hearing the severe bombardment every single night and every hour. I was displaced for the second time again and this time to Rafah area next to the Egyptian border living at UN shelter. My daughters were sad to move again and this time to an area that they have never been to before. After 4 months of being away for my home and living in a shelter, I have managed to travel outside Gaza through United nations coordination with a very hard decision to end the suffering of my daughters on the third week of January, the decision was very hard as unfortunately my husband was not able travel with us to Egypt. As the humanitarian coordination allows women and children only. The United Nations coordination allows me to stay in Egypt for couple of days and the offer includes 6 months of residency in Qatar for UN extended families. The offer is the only chance for my family to survive from death and unstable conditions in Gaza.

Fundraising Goal

I am raising this fund to support in coordination to get my husband out of Gaza where I need about 8000 - 10000 to pay for the coordination to cross Rafah border. I am trying to have the only opportunity and hope in better future in Qatar. Thus, I will need financial support to reallocate myself and my family for the first 6 months until I get a job opportunity. The funds will be to cover the living expenses, flat rent, and education in Qatar for my family, it is estimated to have around 3000 $ per month which is in total 30,000$ more less. This donation will help us to live peacefully and a way from displacement, poverty, illness, and death and to have future to my daughters and have their basic needs in Education. As for the past 4 months my daughters did not have any education, and this is the only opportunity to have education again. My three little daughters need to continue their mind, and get back to school, as they are intelligent girls and love drawing. Further they need trauma therapy after living the harsh conditions in the last four months. We have lost everything behind us, and we need to start over with this offer. On the other hand, my daughters are not able to enjoy their time as their father is far away and still stuck in Gaza. Where the only way to get him out is to pay some money to coordinate his travel and reunion with his daughters. This photo was taken while we were living in a shelter and had very bad conditions.
