Benjamin Rayes was born in Iraq and came to America as a refugee when he was just 6 yrs old. He lived in Detroit, MI and had a very poor upbringing. Ben was considered the brightest and the smartest of the family. He even began working at the age of 8 to make money for his 5 brothers and sisters as well as his mother and father. In his later years, he went to school and worked as a Machinist for a metal company. He then got married in 2008 and created 2 beautiful girls named Maggie and Grace.
Later on, Ben committed a crime and was sentenced to 4 yrs in prison. When he was released, he was put on probation for a month. When his probation was over, he was asked to come to a facility to sign a release form from probation. He was then manipulated into believing this was the case and that he was officially free, but ICE was there to take him.
We understand that breaking the law is never okay, but we also understand people can change their lives and be given a 2nd chance after making a huge mistake. Ben has paid his debt to society.. When he was released, he was ready to have a new life with his beautiful girls and his wife. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do so and the odds are against him again.
Benjamin is Chaldean and as a catholic being sent to Iraq, this means a death sentence. He would be targeted for slaughter like hundreds of Christians are on a daily basis. We are afraid for his life, and not to mention he has a tattooed crucifix on his arm which obviously he can't hide nor remove. Proper Legal services are required and extremely expensive. We've been working with lawyers for a few days and him and his family need all of the help they can get to pay for representation. His girls would DIE to see and be with him again.
This is really URGENT. He's an amazing Father, Uncle, and brother, we cannot see him go like this. We are all struggling with this and it has been an enormous heartbreak.. Please help before there is no more time.
